Arnold Levine Fine Art
About the Artist
Arnold Levine
American Painter
Hudson Valley Artist Arnold Levine has been a professional painter for more than thirty years. He has taught at colleges and universities in Illinois, California, Arizona, and New York. But while he has lived and worked in many places, from Italy to Vietnam, the Hudson Valley has always called him back. Arnold now calls Historic Kingston, NY home. He lives and works in a large studio in a renovated factory building in Kingston, NY.
Mr Levine has exhibited at the National Academy of Design in NYC, the Albany Institute of History and Art, The Butler Institute, The Sheldon Swope Museum in Teere Haute Indiana, Vassar College Art Museum, Northern Arizona University, SUNY New Paltz, as well as numerous group shows. The artist has had one person exhibitions in NY and San Francisco. He is presently represented by Albert Shahinian Fine Arts in Hudson, NY. and Van der Plas Gallery in NYC.
Monet, when asked how long he would continue to paint, answered " As long as my brush is the faithful
servant of my mind and eyes." I cant think of a better way to say it. It has taken me a long time to get to this
point in my life as an Artist. Often things get in the way, and for years at a time I let them. Whether it was a
war, family life and death, a job or whatever, I realize that it was all "grist for the mill". And I am lucky to be able to follow my dream of being a painter for the rest of my days.
Among his awards are a MacDowell Felloship, The Western Connecticut State University Painting Award, Northern Arizona University Purchase Award, and most recently an Artist in residence at the International School of Art in Umbria, Italy.
